austin8109:

the qualities i think a teacher should have are,

1. i think the instructor should give one on one instrutions for a certin project because some students dont coprehend as well in class.

2. i feel we should ask how the class is ran so we can better prepare ourselves for the 16 week course.

3 i think the instructor should have a good attitude because if so the students will most likely get their homework done for that teacher.

we put the same thing for the 3rd one. i guess we learn almost the same ways. and yes its really important for an instructor to have a good attitude because i think the instructors attitude rubs off on the students in that class.

Chapter 1 Excerise

blackbeltkidr:

I study for about two hours everyday about twice a week.

I try to focus during the week on the tasks at hand.

My approach to homework and studying in math class is ignoring the people around me and listening attentively to the teacher with a clear mind.

The  things i do that i know are effective are studying and reviewing my problems as much as possible.

The things i do not do that i know i should do are ignore people and try to focus and not get distracted.

We must do the right things by disengaging from the environment around us and look at the task at hand. We must change our thinking to a mature mind set to successfully complete the tasks.

This is chapter 1 exercise

that really good you can retain alot of infor mation in two hours. it takes me a long time but then again everyone has a differnt way of learing you must have a really good memory.

SELF TALK

aikman:

ilovepadre:

1. I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR MY OWN WORK TO PASS THE COURSE.

2. IF I STUDY HARD THE MORE PROUD I WILL MAKE MYSELF AT THE END OF THE SEMESTER.

3. IF I FOCUS ON MATH THE MORE LIKELY I AM TO UNDERSTAND IT.

4. IF I THINK NEGATIVE IT WILL RESULT IN A POOR GRADE.

5. MATH SKILLS ARE USED IN EVERYDAY LIFE.

6. THE MORE I PRACTICE THE EASIER MATH WILL BE.

7. KEEPING AN ORGANIZED NOTEBOOK WILL MAKE IT EASIER TO STUDY FOR A TEST.

I like the fact that math is used in everyday life.

your self-talk is really good to i feel the same way you do about the studing we all need to do to help us pass our courses

Ch 4 pg 31

self-talk

1. the more i practice it the better i will know it.

2. study the best way i know how.

3. do the math in steps to solve the problems.

4. simplify the problems.

5. work with my hubby by studing together.

6. share what we know with eachother to help us lern the problems we dont know.

7. take time for myself, put on music and study the way i need to so that i will know how to do it on my own.

Ch 3 pg 23

Techniques from the learning style servey,

based on previous excersises my primary learning style is visual

my secondary learning style is,kinesthetic/tectile learning

my weakest learning style is,auditory

for me i have to watch how its done and do it for myself to learn it. some teachers dont think i am paying attention but i rally am i just have my own way of doing it and i dont like to be singled out so i sit in the back of the classroom. my weakest is to just hear alot of blubrish talking because to me thats what it is i dont learn by hearing it that just confuses me so i like to listen to music watch how its done and then do it on my own to figure it out. i have always been this way and i cant change it thats why school is so tough for me i just hope this doesnt affect me in the future.

Ch 10

the techniques i use to study for a test is,

1 i dround out my surroundings by putting on my headphones and play music it also helps me to stay focused. then i pick the problems i need to learn and do the problems that are in the back of the book so i can check my work and work through problems untill i can get 30 problems right without missing one then i take a short time out. then me and my husband work together on problems by giving ourselves practice tests to make sure we know the math if we miss problems we work on them together.we study until we go to bed at 11 so we get a good 5 hours of study time in.

Ch 9

this chapter is about how you retain math. and how when you learn somthing new in math its stored in short term memory. the only way to put it in long term memory is to keep practicing it over and over again. the best way to do that is to find a good way to memorize what you learn. the way i used to do it was to lisent to music and practice my math. and it might sound funny but thats how i learn music is my key to learning i just dont use it now because collage teachers might think i dont want to learn but thats just how my learning disability works. my family didnt bealive me eithr until they saw me do it and how well i did in school. i found my tool and key to learning those difficult math problems now only if i could use it in school. in fact thats how i am working so fast i think its cool but this is what makes math fun to me. and when i learn like this it makes it easier for me as well.

the qualities i think an instructor shoul have.

quality 1. paitence, because some studentsdont learn as fast as others

quality 2. multiple teaching techniques, because some students learn in different ways.

quality 3. good attitude, because some stundents fall behind because they dont like to look stupid i for one hate to admit when i dont know how to do somthing that others do and thats one thing i am trying rally hard to work on. its not that i dont want to ask questions its that i am afraid to be called stupid or dumb. i know its not the way in collage i guess i just cant get past high school.
